Good Saturday and welcome to the weekend. The weather continues to look more like September than the middle of August. With each passing cool day, comes a lower chance for any “hot” weather to impact our part of the world. I’m ok with that, lets get to football weather! 🙂
Today’s temps are generally in the upper 70s to low 80s for much of the state. Our cold front moving through is slowing down across eastern Kentucky, keeping scattered showers and storms around. That action focuses on the south and east through the afternoon, with drying skies coming from the northwest…
Temps by Sunday morning will drop into the 50s for many areas with afternoon highs in the upper 70s to low 80s. This is another cooler than normal day, and that hangs around into Monday…
The recent rounds of showers and thunderstorms have been difficult to time, and that’s typical of a pretty active pattern. Additional systems work our way through next week with more shower and storm chances. Here’s the Canadian…
That timing brings the next chance for showers and storms our way into early next week, with additional action for the middle and end of next week. The European Model likes that mid and late week look as well…
Make it a great day and take care.
Looking at all the particulars (temp – dew point – humidity) on KYMesonet and it certainly looks to be another crisp September morning out there folks. Seems like it’s been this way all week! Feels just like an early Fall! Get out there and enjoy it!
Your sarcastic swipe at Chris might have merit if he had forecasted today to be a crisp morning. Instead, it just looks bad.
LD are you out painting today? I started a painting this morning, but I have to paint in my studio, because the weather here in central Kentucky is so humid and wet from this mornings rains it’s impossible to get out. I don’t think the cold fronts are moving as far south as I expected earlier. Have a great day. Peace for all.
Thanks Chris. Gotta tell you, I realize I am in the minority, but I am NOT ready for fall just yet….I’m still looking for summer! It seems we have had Spring. to fallish, with very little summer in there. No I don’t want a drought, no more than I want mud to my knees….but some days I mid yo upper 80s would not be unwelcome to me. I’ll say it again, It’s a good thing we are not in charge of the weather! Have a stupendous Saturday everyone!
It’s almost getting close enough to forecast the weather for the eclipse on the 21st. Got some blue skies for us Chris?
I hope so. I remember in 1984, My hometown in NC was in the totality. I was in sixth grade and it happened while we were in school. The teacher set up this screen so we could see it from inside. None of us were allowed outside. The teacher was more excited about it than any of the kids.
