Good Saturday and welcome to the last weekend of August. Wait… What? Where did the month go? Things have been very calm around here over the past week, with a blast of fall air taking control. The overall pattern is about to really crank up, with Hurricane Harvey leading the charge.

The rest of the weekend continues to look very good. The only issue may come in the form of an isolated shower or storm late Sunday.

Showers and storms will increase Monday and Tuesday as an upper level low slides in from the northwest…

Locally heavy rains will be possible during this time.

From there, our actual weather will be determined by what happens with Harvey and another tropical system developing off the southeast coastline.

Harvey is going to spend the next few days crushing southeast Texas and Louisiana with historic rains. Here’s the latest to track Harvey…

Take the interactive radar for a drive down to Texas to track the storm. You can also pull up live storm chaser cams to see just how bad things are gettingโ€ฆ

The models are all over the place on what happens with Harvey, but I do think we will get, at least, some rain from this system late next week. There are a lot of variables at play, including exactly how long Harvey decides to loop around Texas and Louisiana.

The Canadian Model brings Harvey right on top of us by Friday, with a trough developing over the Labor Day weekend…

The movement of Harvey likely comes down to two troughs that can nudge this thing northward. The first comes by late Wednesday and Thursday. The next one appears later Sunday or Labor Day.

There is a ton of uncertainty with the setup for later next week into Labor Day weekend, so keep checking back for updates. Won’t be too much longer until it’s multiple update time of the year! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Have a great Saturday and take care.
