Good evening, folks. We continue to slowly pull out of this bitterly cold pattern, with some milder days on the way. As the pattern turns milder, it continues to look very active. Several big storms set to impact our weather over the next few weeks, mainly as rainmakers.
Our Friday forecast looks much better with highs in the 30s with mostly sunny skies. Drip, drip, drip… the snow melt really starts to kick in.
Highs this weekend start to climb with the 40s on Saturday, and a small shower chance. Temps will then climb toward the 50s Sunday and early Monday, ahead of our cold front. That front has a nice push of rain with it…
Temps tumble behind that boundary by Monday night and early Tuesday, with a few flakes trying to fly.
Temps rebound quickly as the week wears on, and likely turn mild. This happens as a deep trough digs into the plains states with a huge ridge in the southwest. That puts Kentucky into a potential stormy and soggy setup…
Watch the rain train showing up on the European Model…
That’s a soggy look!
Make it a great evening and take care.
Thanks Chris. Ugh on the rain! A few days of sunshine would be good. I have really enjoyed the snow. It’s been beautiful but since it is melting, I guess the rain could help wash off the salt on the roads. But I do hope we get one more good snow before winter is over. Have a great Friday Eve evening everyone.
I agree about at least one good snowstorm. My children say that they would love a snowstorm that starts in a Friday afternoon and snows hard all night and into Saturday. I think that sounds marvelous.
Thanks Chris for the forecast! I am ready for a break from snow, ice, and cold. Tomorrow will be the first day out in days from being home bound…yeah!,
I’m ready to ride the rain train to an early spring. I hope it isn’t a warm trend that ends in mid February. Had a couple decent snows but I’m ready for turkey season to start and asinine electric bills to stop.
Thanks Chris. This winter is a kick in guts for those who missed out on big totals with the last storm. Incredible dry cold, huge snow totals to the north south east and west, and now, a good stretch of cold rain in the forecast. Phew!

We are entering the zzzzzzz zone next couple of weeks, if you’re a winter weather lover. See you in February!
