Good Saturday evening, folks.  Our snow pack is just about a thing of the past, as we continue to see a milder pattern settling into Kentucky. Even though the pattern is milder over the next few weeks. there are some signs of winter taking a few shots at us.

In the short-term, a few showers develop tonight and last into Sunday…

Temps on Sunday can make a run at 60 if we can get some breaks in the clouds. Winds will be gusty as we get set for the arrival of a cold front on Monday. Winds will be very gusty with this front and the models are trying to put down some decent rains…

As the front swings through, a nice temperature drop is on the way Monday night into Tuesday. Temps may only reach the 30s for highs on Tuesday, but a northwesterly wind can produce snow showers and flurries. We even seeing the potential for some very light accumulations…

That’s not a big deal, but it’s likely a signal that, even in a setup that screams mild, winter has a lot left in the tank. Another signal of that comes next weekend. After another mild up for the end of the week, check out the trough digging in here…

That could be a big rain maker that switches to snow…

Again, the global signals suggest this should be a wall to wall mild pattern, but that does not look to be the case. When a real winter gets going, it is REALLY hard to totally reverse the trend.

Contrary to my winter weather outlook, I’m continue to be on board with a very interesting second half of winter around here, and for much of the country. Buckle up.

Make it a great evening and take care.
