Good evening, gang. Our weekend continues to wrap up with milder air firmly entrenched across the bluegrass state. This is ahead of the first of two cold fronts moving in here over the next week, with the first arriving on Monday.

That front is likely to spawn scattered showers and even a thunderstorm. Gusty winds are also going to be a player, with gusts of 40-45mph a good bet. A few gusts in the west may approach 50mph…

Colder winds then blow behind the front, with the potential for some snow and rain showers to filter in on Tuesday…

A seasonal chill then hangs around into Wednesday, before milder air surges back in here for the end of the week. This is ahead of a deepening trough working across the Mississippi Valley and into our region. The European Model continues to go toward a much colder solution, with low pressure riding northward up the Appalachian Mountains…

That could be a rain to snow scenario across our part of the world, with that trough digging in for a few days…

That’s a pretty cold look on the European…

Given the mild overall setup across the country, that’s a pretty amazing look and is a sign that the winter pattern does not want to go away. If it can fight through the mild signals, imagine what it can do as the cold signals show back up in early February!

Enjoy your evening and take care.
