Good evening, folks. We continue to track a cold and snowy looking pattern as we close in on the month of February. It’s a pattern we’ve been highlighting for a while now and things look to be on track. As many of you are filly aware, your friendly weatherdude starts to hit spring mode about this time of year, so he isn’t too happy about this. πŸ™‚

The Thursday into Thursday night system continues to get bullied by the weekend systems working in quickly behind it. This trend has been there for several days, with a rain to quick-hitting mix and snow scenario taking place. The fast movement of this will keep any accumulations on the light side, with the southeast having the best chance at seeing sticking snow.

You can see this well on the European Model…

With snow systems quickly returning by late Saturday into early next week, the chance for region-wide accumulating snows are greatly increased.

The European Model through early next week…

The Canadian…

The GFS…

The GFS Ensembles…

If we add the following week onto the GFS Ensembles, you can clearly see trend continuing…

“Spring” weatherdude continues to say “Go big or go home”, Old Man. πŸ˜‰

Enjoy your evening and take care.
