Good evening, gang. I wanted to drop by for a quick update on the weekend system rolling our way. In the overall scheme of things, I don’t have any changes to my original thoughts on how it plays out.
This looks like a snow/mix developing Saturday night into Sunday morning, with a period of light rain by Sunday afternoon, then light snow back in by Sunday night.
The early Sunday morning setup is interesting, in that it can provide some areas with a few hours of thumping wet snow. The European Model is most robust with this…
The snow map from that run may be a little overdone, and includes the Sunday night flakes…
That may also have a little sleet contamination, inflating the totals in the southeast.
The European Ensembles are similar…
The GFS Ensembles are also hitting a hot spot of front end snows in central Kentucky…
Nothing like another forecasting headache. Oh, and another headache moves in Tuesday and Wednesday. #teamspring
Enjoy the evening and take care.
Good luck Chris.
Team #DearLordPleaseGiveUsSomeSnowDaysBecauseThereIsTooMuchSicknessInTheseSchools from this teacher over here in Louisville. No, but seriously, at this point we need a good week out with this flu and strep and germs!
Absolutely. Between kids and staff at my schools I want to spray my office down with microban and quarantine myself.
It will happen. Trust me. We have not seen the worst of the flu outbreak in the state of Kentucky.
Amen! We can’t get subs for our teachers who are either sick or have sick kids and attendance is down so much that I’m going to have to cover this past week again to catch them up. A four day weekend might help and it’s a shame we have to wish for snow to get that. #TNTeacher
Thanks Chris. You are the best! (take some Excedrin Tension!)
Based on CB’s forecast and outlook, it’s like Kentucky is some kind of meteorological fence or something….. 😉 🙂
No
What happened with the arctic air we were supposed to get?
No kidding
Exactly
Wrong
Yep
Hanging out in Canada.
Correct me if I’m wrong, when I see KY is the fence…I see mostly rain, tad of mix snow. I hate beI g on the fence with anything….come on KY….get off the fence
In full agreement with you Chris, #teamspring indeed. I’m longing for 60+ degree sunny days, birds singing, trees/flowers budding, and even mowing twice a week (yes twice a week…I swear someone fertilizes by yard every spring while I’m at work).
Our so called winter may actually be over. If not, its looking pretty grim. But I mean weather models are so bad lately, who really knows.
