Good Sunday, everyone. We have a nice little system working across the state this early today, bringing snow, rain and a combo of the two. This system is part of a trend, with two more winter weather threats on the way for the upcoming week.

Here’s a quick recap of how today tries to play out:

  • Early this morning is going to be very interesting across parts of central and eastern Kentucky. The initial precipitation starts as rain, then goes to snow for some areas. The heavier the precipitation, the better the snow potential for any one location.
  • Those getting in on the snow can see it come down pretty darn hard for a while, leading to a slushy accumulation.
  • The greatest potential for this happening is across north central and northeastern parts of the state. There’s the chance for a thumper in a few spots
  • Any area is fair game for, at least a coating, but that doesn’t mean EVERYONE gets snow. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  • The precipitation goes over to light rain later in the day, then back to some light snow tonight.

Following this is a slightly stronger system arriving later Tuesday into Wednesday. One band of light snow may move in early Tuesday, with the actual storm system arriving later. This should put the fence right on top of Kentucky.
