Good afternoon, everyone. Even thought the rains have stopped, flooding continues across many areas of the bluegrass state. We do have some dry weather moving in for a few days, but it’s not going to last very long. Another big rain maker moves in to close out February.
Before we get to all that, here are the current Flood Warnings still showing up in our region…
While most stay dry, there’s the chance for a few showers to graze southeastern Kentucky…
Monday and Tuesday are dry days, with temps heading toward the 60 degree mark by Tuesday. Once into Tuesday night and Wednesday, the showers and storms return. This is part of another potent system dropping in here from the west and northwest…
Notice how that storm really deepens across the region, before bombing out along the east coast. That’s a big wind maker around here, with crashing temps behind it. Flurries, too?
The main threat from this will come from the heavy rains. The European is targeting much of the state for a 1″-2″ rainfall, with higher amounts in the south and southeast…
That would bring a renewed flood and flash flood threat to the bluegrass state.
Temps should rebound behind that departing system. but the blocky looking pattern tries to throw some winter weather our way next week…
No thanks. #teamspring
Have a great rest of your Sunday and take care.
I would love to see a significant snow here in Floyd County. Any chanch of that happening?
More rain means more flooding and my yard will still be a swamp until Labor Day now.
Louisville has received more rain (7.12″) in 5 days than an entire season of snowfall (6.0″) and the monthly total of 10.47″ is greater than 2 seasons of snowfall of 8.7″
I went on your The Mikjournal of Weather or Not….pretty neat site! I am a data nut, so of course I like looking at the numbers!
Welcome to the club
11.90 Andy, for the month-to-date. I guess we will have to settle for a foot of rain instead of snow for the month of February
10.4 here so far for the month.
The Wed-Sat total here was 6.35 inches. I guess that SE ridge didn’t back-build enough to help us. Thankfully no flooding at my place but a few of our neighbors weren’t so lucky.
