Good evening, folks. The final day of a record-setting wet February is sending the month out on, what else, a very wet note. Rounds of showers continue to press across the region, with heavier rains moving into the southern half of the state tonight and early Thursday.
That continues to bring a flood threat to this part of the state:
Areas in the flood watch can pick up another 1″-2″ through Thursday, leading to the potential for, at least, local high water issues to develop.
The rain will wrap up quickly from west to east as low pressure passes by to our north and east. As it does so, winds will become very gusty and some gusts could reach 40mph a times. Temps will also crash, with the potential for a few flakes to fly in the east by Thursday night.
This sets us up for a breezy and seasonal weekend. Skies will be sunny from Friday through Sunday, with temps slowly moderating. Highs Friday and Saturday will be 50-ish, with temps deeper into the 50s for Sunday.
Another cold front then works in here on Monday, bringing more showers and rumbles of thunder. That opens the gates to more of a winter looking setup next week…
That look as much colder than normal temps moving in for several days in a row…
Blah, Blah Blah.
Make it a great evening and take care.
It finally hit 1/10th for the day to bad its not done
Seems the main rain was a miss for a lot of us. We have got nowhere near .5″, yet alone an inch plus unless southern area of KY. More moving in that will head more north? If a miss, a very good one 🙂
Or did the main rain go around Richmond? The snow has before, so is a possibility.
Probably the same for next week. It could snow but those temps are still too far above freezing with a very warm ground now. Let’s move on and bury another very disappointing winter!
Who cares? No floods = win!
Same here with 0.10 inches. This is one of the best runs I have seen of the GFS in a very long time!
