Good Wednesday, folks. #teamspring is in for a rude awakening as snow showers and cold temperatures surge back into our part of the world. It’s a pattern that will continue to threaten us with colder than normal temps and a few more snow chances. Yippee. đ
Snow showers, squalls and flurries will be common today and I can’t rule out some light accumulations from time to time. Lots of melting will be taking place, but the heavier squalls can do the trick for a short time. Winds will continue to be gusty with highs in the 30s for most. Your tracking tools in a bit.
A few more snow showers and flurries will be noted Thursday, especially across the eastern half of the state. That area may also pick up on some light accumulations. Temps will be even colder, with wind chills dropping into the teens at times.
From there, we track a couple systems impacting the weekend forecast. The first arrives late Friday into Friday night, with rain and snow showing up. The NAM is showing this well…
The GFS is seeing it now…
The Canadian is the strongest with it…
A swath of light accumulating snow is possible Friday night and Saturday morning.
The next storm system then arrives by Sunday, but we continue to see the models showing a pretty hefty spread on how it all plays out.
The GFS…
The Canadian is now picking up on it better…
The European continues to be the farthest south…
This may be a product of the bias of the model in holding too much energy back in the southwest.
Let’s get back to what we have going on out there right now. I have you all set to track today’s return of winter…

I will have updates later today, so check back. Make it a good one and take care.
It looks like far northern KY from Georgetown on north received more than the top of Pine Mt. 0 accumulation here in Harlan, valley location. I can look up though and see the higher elevations are white.
#NormalMarchWeather. The only recent extreme weather was double digit rainfall coupled with near 30 degrees above average temps from February which has the trees blooming early setup for freezing damage!
If it’s going to be cold & snowy this is a GREAT time for it to be, with the SEC & then the NCAA tournaments I’ll be inside most the time anyway. Now let’s just hope we are watching Cal & the C A T S
My bet is CB is not too confident on the later system, or he would be noting it more like he was. Though we did not get much snow, I’m done with it anyway. Spring FTW!
