Good evening, everyone. As our big snowstorm continues to melt away, we start to focus more on the pattern ahead. It’s one that will throw a little more snow showers our way, but offers some hope for spring temps for a few days.
A few flurries or snow showers will be possible out there tonight, butt the best chance comes late Tuesday into Tuesday night. That’s when our northwesterly wind flow can put down some light accumulations. A few snow squalls may get into the mix, putting down some quick inch amounts. You can see that well on the Hi Res NAM…
Here’s regional radar for this evening’s snow showers…
The cold air hangs tough through Wednesday, with a slightly milder setup settling in for Thursday. This may lead us into another system for Friday. The GFS keeps bringing rain and some wet snow back in here…
Much milder air then moves in here to end the weekend and start next week, but another cold shot then comes in here by the middle of next week. That shows up well on the GFS Ensembles…
The European Model also has that transition back to cold, and it comes with a storm system…
NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Enjoy the evening and take care.
I just want to vomit at all that cold air.
Thanks Chris. Ready for the cold to start receding back north from whence it came….I’m glad some hot snow. We didn’t. But with it nearing mid March it’s time for it to start vamoosing! Talk about March Madness!! Whew! Have a good night all.
I think that the lack of snow in far SE KY is what has made this one of the most miserable winters in my lifetime, as with the exception of February’s warmth, it has been too cold for such pitiful snow. Plus, last year was almost snowless, so we are over 2 years since a good ground cover here. Yes, we have had a tiny more snow than last year, but last year was so consistently warm that we were not teased to death with snow ..chances. I WANT TO MOVE ON FROM THIS WINTER!
Is the precipitation on the radar not reaching the ground? My county has been covered for hours but I’ve seen nothing.
We have more on the ground tonight here in Eastern Mason county than last night. Not even an inch but the ground is white.
