Good evening, folks. It’s full steam ahead toward a big warm up for the rest of the week, but a major storm system may cause a few issues this weekend. That bad boy may also unleash another round of very cold temps, and even some flake action.

Temps out there for Wednesday will hit the 60s in most areas. The real spring surge comes in on Thursday and Friday, with readings deep into the 70s. A strong southwest wind may boost temps to near 80 degrees by Friday. That’s some of the good stuff we have been waiting for.

Unfortunately, our weekend will see some major changes moving in here. The upper levels are loaded with energy and may very well close off on top of us this weekend and early next week. The end result at the surface is for two potent storm systems to develop. The first hangs to our west, dragging a front into the region later Saturday. That may have strong or severe storms ahead of it. As the upper levels close off, another low develops near us, keeping the heavy rain threat going…

That could be a big time wind maker for our part of the world! You can also see how the cold air comes in behind that system by late Sunday or Monday. There’s a chance for a few flakes to fly around here during this time…

The rest of April continues to look active with cold shots dueling it out with increasing shots of spring. The end result could mean additional big storm systems.

Enjoy your evening and take care.
