Good evening, folks. Some nice spring weather continues to press in across the Commonwealth, but the weekend is looking to go the other way. That’s when a slow-moving storm system brings strong storms, heavy rain and high winds to the region.

I have no changes to the next few days, with temps heading into the 70s for Thursday and Friday. The only drawback will be the crazy south and southwest wind that can gust to 40mph at times.

Our weekend storm system will bring the first round of showers and storms into western Kentucky by Friday night. Strong to severe storms are very possible. That line works eastward into Saturday morning, with additional heavy rain and storms developing later in the day. That action continues into Sunday…

We will need to be on guard for the potential for high water issues developing. Check out the rain numbers now showing up on the GFS…

Winds will also be a huge player through the entire weekend.

Much colder air then comes into play late Sunday into Monday. That strong northwesterly wind may also spit out some rain and snow showers on Monday…

A quick rebound in temps will occur by Tuesday and Wednesday, but there is a lot of ugly left in this pattern through the rest of April. Ugh.

Enjoy the evening and take care.
