Good Thursday, everyone. Windy and warm temps have taken control of our weather through Friday. Once into the weekend, our weather is going to take a little walk on the wild with heavy rain, strong storms and a big temperature crash.
Temps out there today will be deep in the 70s, with that gusty southwest wind cranking to between 30mph and 40mph.
Friday will be similar, but temps should do a little better and make a run at 80 in a few spots. Bring. It. On.
From there, it’s all about a wild weekend of weather. We have heavy rain, strong storms, high winds and a huge temp crash on the way. That temp drop may even throw a few flakes our way by Monday…
Here’s a look at the latest severe storms risk maps from the Storm Prediction Center…
FRIDAY
SATURDAY
Temps behind this system crash all day long on Sunday, with only low 40s showing up on Monday…
A quick spike in temps should occur behind that into the middle of next week…
That’s ahead of a system skirting by to our north, but it could knock the numbers down a few degrees with a slight chance for showers and storms.
A much bigger system may move toward us by next weekend, bringing another surge of warmth ahead of it…
I will have another update later today, so y’all come back, now.
Enjoy the gorgeous day and take care.
Thanks Chris for the update. Looking more like spring. Lets all hope and pray that the severe thunderstorms forecast for Saturday do not have damaging straight line winds and cloud to ground lightning. Have a great day everyone.
Hang in there everyone. This is not the only time spring has been late. The trees will be in full leaf by the end of the month if not sooner. The ornamental plants that did not freeze will be in full bloom soon. Have patience, Mother Nature is a little slow this year.
….a little slow with a frosty attitude to boot!☺
I honestly don’t see how we will have much fruit though as freeze after freeze has hit the fruit trees since March. Most have quit blooming now except apples which likely has me a hit next week…stinks
Stupid phone typos!☺
Improvement ahead for spring temps!?
I think we have not seen two spikes in temps in one week since February, so next week might be something to look forward to after the beginning of the week has past☺
I think this the most disappointing spring I can remember. I always love it when the world comes alive again after a long winter and everything is blooming and there is a burst of color. This year the main color seems to be brown, at least on all the blooms. Most blooms have been frost or freeze bitten and have a dull, brownish look to them, or have just withered up. Even my normally hearty daffodils are pathetic this year. I would like a re-do on spring this year, can you arrange that, Chris?
Mother Nature needs Prozac. This up and down stuff is wearing me out!
80 degrees on my car thermometer as I pulled into work today. It goes without saying, but I and many others are ready for this to be a regular thing. In time, I suppose.
