Good Saturday to one and all. We are kicking off a busy weekend of weather, with rounds of showers and storms targeting the bluegrass state. Some of the storms may be strong or severe, with local flooding issues a possibility. All of this comes from another winter vs spring battle.
The Storm Prediction Center has our region in a risk for severe storms through tonight…
The main threat comes from damaging winds and large hail.
In addition to the severe threat, these will be slow-moving storms that can dump enough rain to cause some flooding issues to develop. The best threat of that happening appears to be across western and central Kentucky.
Much colder air sweeps in on Sunday, shutting the heavy rains down from west to east. A strong northwesterly wind flow may spit out a rain or snow shower by Monday. Highs may be hard-pressed to get much above the 40 degree mark.
A big temp rebound comes our way by the middle of the week, but I’m already watching another possible severe weather signal showing up for next weekend.
I will have another update later today, until then, let’s do some storm tracking…
Enjoy your Saturday and take care.
Wow if we get any sunshine before that line rolls in, watch out.
Thanks Chris for the update. I have my electrics up to date now ahead of the storms, but I’m still going to unhitch my Direct TV, computer router and portable phones until the cold front clears our area. Have a great day everyone.
