Good Sunday, everyone. Our super-soaker of a Kentucky Derby Day is behind us and now it’s time to focus on the pattern coming in behind it. If you’re a fan of showers and storms, this is a good looking pattern for you, with several systems set to impact our region over the next week.

Morning rain pulls quickly away from eastern Kentucky, leaving us with a mix of sun and clouds and temps in the 70s. Winds will be rather gusty as we await the arrival of a cold front later this evening. That will touch off a few showers and thunderstorms across our area, and a few could be strong. I will have your tracking toys in a bit.

Cooler winds will blow on Monday, with leftover showers hanging around eastern parts of the state…

Temps may stay in the 60s for highs across the eastern half of the state.

Warmer winds return on Tuesday with temps deep into the 70s with a mix of sun and clouds. Temps head toward 80 on Wednesday as we get ready for another system to work in here from the west and northwest. A few strong to severe storms are possible from later Wednesday into Thursday…

A few more showers and storms hang around into Friday, with a more potent cold front approaching next weekend. That should also bring showers and storms back into the region…

As you can see, storm chances look frequent over the next week or so.

Here are your tracking tools for the day…

Have a great Sunday and take care.
