Good Thursday, everyone. We continue to track a weak cold front across the region today and this is touching off a few showers and storms. This front will then slow down and move back to the north, allowing for a surge of very warm and humid air to move in. It’s a pattern that tries to lock in for a bit.

In the short-term, we have some showers and storms working through here today, especially this morning. A few of the storms may be strong or locally severe, but the threat is fairly low…

Skies will actually clean up pretty well later today, with some lingering action in the southeast.

Speaking of lingering action… A storm or two will again be possible on Friday as very warm and humid air surges back in. Temps on Friday hit the middle 80s in the west, with low 80s in the east. The long range pattern through next week appears to be pretty darn active with the potential for rounds of showers and storms. Several models have also been indicating something tropical or semi-tropical developing around Florida and throwing moisture our way. The rainfall totals from the next few weeks indicate this connection…
