Good Sunday and Happy Mother’s Day to all the mommas out there. Record setting mid-May heat has arrived across parts of the bluegrass state. This surge of Summer lasts into the early part of the week ahead, but rounds of thunderstorms will kick into high gear, bringing a heavy rain threat.

Let’s begin with out Mother’s Day and roll forward. Highs today will generally range from the upper 80s to low 90s across the state, with several record highs going down. There is the chance for a few strong storms going up across the region late today into this evening. The best chance is across the northern half of the state…

Monday looks similar to today with upper 80s and low 90s. Scattered showers and storms will be noted, with the potential for a few strong or locally severe storms.  The threat for storms will then increase through the week…

Rain totals for the next few weeks continue to be impressive…
