Good afternoon, everyone. I wanted to drop by for a special update on the potential for severe storms and flash flooding later today through Monday. A few rounds of big thunderstorms will likely roll from west to east across the state during this time, causing issues along the way.
Here’s the area I am most concerned with…
For the severe aspect, damaging winds will be the large scale player.
The flash flood risk is up there and it would be a good time to get a Flash Flood Watch out for much of the state. This setup can put down several inches of rain, leading to high water issues developing. Keep a close eye on water levels as the storm clusters roll in through Monday.

I have already recorded 1.03 today in Harlan. Sunny now but definitely setting the stage for storms, especially with dew points above 70 to work with!
