Good afternoon, everyone. I wanted to drop by for a special update on the potential for severe storms and flash flooding later today through Monday. A few rounds of big thunderstorms will likely roll from west to east across the state during this time, causing issues along the way.
Here’s the area I am most concerned with…
For the severe aspect, damaging winds will be the large scale player.
The flash flood risk is up there and it would be a good time to get a Flash Flood Watch out for much of the state. This setup can put down several inches of rain, leading to high water issues developing. Keep a close eye on water levels as the storm clusters roll in through Monday.
I have you set to track the increasing action from west to east…
I will have updates as needed, so check back. Make it a good one and take care.
Thanks Chris. Traveling back from the Cleveland area. Hope we make it home before anything starts happening!
I have already recorded 1.03 today in Harlan. Sunny now but definitely setting the stage for storms, especially with dew points above 70 to work with!
Meanwhile, snow was falling west of Denver today.
Yay! Winter is coming!
Fitting, since final season of GOT’s is next year.
Not to jinx, but that had to be for KY overall, the wimpiest storm season to date. Summer continue the trend?
I made haste to get my yard mowed today because I thought storms were coming. No rain fell in Richmond this afternoon, but at least I got my yard done.
