Good Monday, everyone. Rounds of showers and storms are rolling across the state to start the new week. This action is bringing a severe weather and flash flood threat. As the week rolls on, more storms rumble in, with heat and humidity increasing.

As mentioned, today’s storms may become a problem for parts of the bluegrass state. High winds could accompany the strongest storms, with torrential rains possibly causing flash flooding. Here are the tracking tools for the day…

Once again, strong storms and torrential rains will be possible across the Commonwealth.

Heat slowly builds in later this week, before kicking into high gear this weekend through the 4th of July. The core of the heat is to our north during this time, with a massive heat wave for the Great Lakes into New England…

This will give us a nice run of days of 90 degrees or better for much of the region, but moisture is going to return from the eastern Gulf of Mexico. That is likely to fuel a few more thunderstorms to help us out in the temp department.
