Good afternoon, everyone. Rounds of showers and thunderstorms continue to pound much of Kentucky, with more on the way for the next few days. From severe weather to flooding rains, this is a very active setup for our part of the world.

The greatest threat for severe storms for the rest of the day is across the south and southeast. Damaging winds will continue to be the main culprit, but I can’t rule out a weak tornado spin up.

Several inches of rain have already fallen since last night, with some areas already reporting flooding. Additional heavy rain can lead to more flash flooding in some spots. As of this writing, a Flash Flood Watch has still never been issued. Being proactive seems like a thing of the past for an increasing number of weather folks. Sigh.

More heavy rain is on the way the next few days and I will talk about that in a bit. First, here are your tracking tools for the rest of the day…

Rounds of showers and storms will continue Tuesday into Wednesday, bringing additional high water issues. A few more strong to severe storms are possible…

Again… Watch the flash flood threat over the next few days.

This wet ground is really going to help out with the building heat later in the week. That will keep the temps in check, especially with help from additional showers and storms developing…

That’s also showing a weak cold front dropping in leading up to the 4th of July.

I will update things as needed so check back. Make it a good one and take care.
