Time To Heat It Up Again

Good Thursday, everyone. Our super-soaker of a pattern is slowing down just a bit, as steamy temps take control. Now, that doesn’t mean we are going to completely get rid of the storms. Even in what should be a drier pattern, storms are going to fire up.

Scattered storms will be noted early today, especially in the south and west. By this afternoon and evening, western Kentucky may be in the line of fire for strong and severe storms diving in from the northwest. This is where we may see severe storms going up. Here’s the latest Severe Weather Outlook from the Storm Prediction Center…

Here are your radars to track the developing action…

Temps on Friday begin to heat up and that continues into the weekend. The models are likely overcooked with the temps, but it’s going to be hot and feel much hotter with the humidity factored in. The wet ground and lush vegetation will take some of the edge off the temps, but will add to the tropical feel.

A plume of moisture will be streaming in here from the Gulf of Mexico, giving us the threat for afternoon and evening storms this weekend…

That will also help to keep the numbers in check.

Additional showers and storms will filter in here early next week and take us through the 4th of July. This is also when a front approaches us from the northwest…

Make it a great day and take care.

You can cut the humidity with a knife right now! And of course my family is heading to St Louis tomorrow and there is an excessive heat warning
