Good Thursday, everyone. We’ve made it to the often overlooked 5th of July and it’s shaping up to be another hot and humid day. That said, big changes are on the way for the next few days with an increase in storms and a big decrease in temps.

Before we get to the normal post, let’s say Happy Birthday to Kentucky Weather Center. It was 10 years ago today I posted my first update on this site. In the decade that has followed, you guys have turned this into the most visited weather site in this region.

I want to say a big thank you to each and every one of you. As I’ve said from day one, you all are the backbone of what I do. In honor of our 10 year anniversary, I’ve got some exciting things planned for later this year that will take KWC to the next level. 🙂

Back to the weather, highs today are back into the low 90s with a heat index topping 100 once again. Scattered showers and storms will go up and a few could be strong. This action is ahead of a cold front dropping in from the north on Friday. Showers and storms will be likely along and ahead of the front…

Temps on Friday will only reach the upper 70s and low 80s. MUCH cooler and drier air comes in behind the front for the weekend. Lows can drop into the 50s…

Saturday looks amazing with low humidity, plenty of sunshine and highs mainly in the low 80s. Sunday will see 80-85 in most areas, with just a small threat for a shower or storm in the afternoon.

Storm chances will then ramp up early next week as humidity levels start to climb.

Let’s bring it back to today’s storms. I have you all set to do some tracking…

Have a great day and take care.
