Good Wednesday and welcome to the month of August. Rounds of showers and storms have been common over the past few days, weeks and months, and it looks like this familiar pattern rolls on into the 8th month of the year.

Rounds of showers and storms will be across the region today, especially in the central and east. A strong storm is possible once again, with locally heavy rainfall a good bet. Given the recent heavy rains, watch for local high water issues…

Temps will continue to run below normal.

The setup for the end of the week into the weekend features… Wait for it… Wait for it… more rounds of showers and storms…

This is basically a continuation of the stormy setup we’ve been seeing this week. Any one day can feature some strong storms with torrential rains. The local flash flood threat is elevated during this time, especially in the east.

Another system then dives into the region early next week with additional rounds of showers and storms…

Temps will be closer to normal during this time, with the occasional spike ahead of our cold front. That front may also usher in some stronger storms as cooler air works in behind it.

Make it a great first day of August and take care.
