Good Friday, everyone. We have another very pleasant temperature day taking shape across Kentucky, but the northwestern sky is about to become more active. A few rounds of showers and thunderstorms are going to drop in from that direction as we roll through the upcoming weekend.
The first round may roll into parts of central and western Kentucky this afternoon and evening, likely in weakening fashion.
Scattered showers and storms may impact more people on Saturday as humidity levels really take off…
Temperatures steam it up from Sunday through next week are VERY steamy with daytime highs in the upper 80s, with a local 90 possible. The humidity is off the charts, leading to rounds of showers and storms going back up Monday and Tuesday.
Tropical moisture streams in from the Gulf of Mexico as a front approaches from the northwest by the end of the week. That combination could spell some big rain producing showers and storms. The European Model is showing some nice storm coverage…
We will once again need to be on guard for some local high water issues with that type of a setup. All models are showing this, with a few even trying to spin something up in the tropics over Labor Day Weekend…

I leave you with your Friday storm trackers…
Have a great day and take care.
Although Hurricane Andrew had formed many days earlier and affected areas like the Bahamas, it was on this day in 1992 that Andrew as a Cat 5 devastated south Florida.
The storm would later come ashore in Louisiana as a Cat 3.

I remember well: a kid glued to the TV! That was a terrible hurricane and the only saving grace for less damage was the small size of the storm core.
Hurricane Camille is the one I remember in my lifetime. The year was 1969 in the month of August when it came ashore as a category five. I was living in southwestern Indiana at that time and the following Autumn was beautiful and the winter was cold and snowy from December 1969 through March 1970. Now that’s what I would call a real Autumn and Winter ! It seems now that this climate change for the warmer is actually occurring as the Autumn season is occurring much later and the winters are short.
