Good Saturday to one and welcome to September. Meteorological fall begins today, but Mother Nature is in no hurry to wrap up summer. As a matter of fact, the first week of the ‘fall’ may very well be the steamiest of the entire year. This steam will also be accompanied by… scattered storms.

Let us begin with today and roll forward. Highs are generally in the mid and upper 80s across the state, with a local 90 in the west. Humidity levels will make it feel 90 or a little better in most areas. Watch for a few boomers to go up in the afternoon and evening hours. Any storm that’s out there could put down torrential rains on a local scale…

Scattered showers and storms will continue to fire up Sunday into Labor Day. Those storms will be capable of putting down torrential rains and will produce a lot of lightning. The GFS did well with the Friday storms and continues to show some decent totals through Labor Day…

Outside of the storms, it’s steamy as all get out. ๐Ÿ™‚

Temps next week can hit 90 on any given day, but the humidity will be off the charts, making it feel even hotter. Our saving grace will be a daily threat for scattered showers and storms going up through the entire week…

The tropics are going to have a big say in the overall pattern across the lower 48. We have two systems of interest…

Have a great Saturday and take care.
