Good afternoon, everyone. Historic Hurricane Michael is coming ashore along the Florida Panhandle and is bringing devastation with it. This storm will throw some tropical moisture into southeastern Kentucky tonight, meeting up with our fall cold front to produce heavy rains. Then, the chilly air settles in.

Back here in Kentucky, showers and thunderstorms are scattered about the region ahead of our front. This action will increase this evening, bringing some heavy rains our way. As the front moves into eastern Kentucky late tonight and early Thursday, it will meet up with some deeper tropical moisture and produce very heavy rains. Rain ends from west to east Thursday as chilly air sweeps in. Temps drop into the upper 50s and low 60s for afternoon readings.

Friday’s highs stay in the 50s with afternoon clouds increasing. Those clouds are ahead of a fast-moving system that can spit out a few showers Friday night and Saturday morning. The NAM continues to show a few flakes just to our north…

Our next system arrives on Sunday and is what’s left of a Hurricane Sergio from the Pacific. This will bring very chilly showers our way Sunday into early Monday. Another weak system follows that up Monday night and may produce some more flakes not too far away…

More cold shots are on the way after that, with frost and freezing conditions a possibility to follow that up.
