Good Friday, folks. We have chilly wind blowing up a few showers on this Friday, but the weekend will see a nice little break moving in. That break doesn’t last long as another huge storm system rolls our way early next week. That system should bring more heavy rain, high winds and potential severe storms our way. All of that may be followed by a more winter looking system.

Let us begin with this 2nd day of November. Lots of clouds will be noted with temps having a tough time getting out of the upper 40s for much of the region. A few showers may also flare up, but this shouldn’t be an all day thing…

Saturday starts in the 30s and ends in the 50s with a mix of sun and clouds. Those clouds continue to thicken on Sunday with showers moving from west to east across the state, especially later in the day.

This brings us to what could very well become a severe weather outbreak for areas from the Mississippi Valley to the Appalachian Mountains Monday into Tuesday. A negatively tilted trough will be swinging our of the plains toward the Great Lakes during this time. That should form one heck of a low pressure that may rapidly intensify along the way. Severe thunderstorms and high winds may become an issue during this time.

For our region, Monday night into Tuesday appears to be the prime time for the worst of the weather. Here’s the initial area I’m highlighting…

Watch how strong this low gets as it bombs out as it moves into the northern Ohio Valley and Great Lakes…

Even without true severe storms, the winds may be enough to cause damage. While it’s still early in the game, this one passes the look test.

Much colder air follows that system with a different looking system possibly showing up by the end of the week…

Back in October, I wrote how I thought this November would bring us severe weather and snow and I see no reason why this pattern can’t deliver that. As always, we shall see.

I will have updates later today. Have a good one and take care.
