Good Saturday, everyone. Much better weather is blowing into the state today, but this will not last very long. I’ve got 3 systems set to impact our weather over the next week, The main system will bring a high wind and severe storms threat to the state early in the new week. That may be followed up by a winter looking system by the end of the week. Shew!
Let’s start with today and roll forward. Temps will be in the 30s to start with 50s this afternoon as skies become partly sunny. Overall, this is a pretty good day.
Clouds roll in on Sunday as a weak front moves in from the west. Gusty showers work into western Kentucky and roll across the state later in the day…
That brings us to our powerhouse storm taking aim at the region later Monday into Tuesday. The stage is set for a potential severe weather outbreak from the Ohio Valley into parts of the deep south. Watch how this storm is strengthens along the way…

This is more than likely going to turn into a damaging wind event for much of our region, even without true severe storms. If severe storms develop, all modes of severe weather would be on the table. Damaging winds, hail and tornadoes.
The worst of the weather would be from late Monday afternoon into Tuesday morning, with improving weather thereafter.
Temps crash on Tuesday with another system on the way for the end of the week. This storm system moves in Thursday and Friday and has the chance to make us talk about the first real chance for winter weather…

That’s actually arctic air getting into the country behind that system and could make for a very cold time next weekend.
Another potent storm signal is showing up for the following week. The models trend back and forth with what to do with it, but a few look pretty wintry…

One thing’s for sure, this super active pattern will not go away. With cold air getting involved, things could get pretty wild early on this season.
I will try to send out another update today, but I can’t make any promises.
Enjoy your Saturday and take care.
Good times ahead for active weather lovers!
I am ready for another year of mythical GPS snowstorms.
I like the BLUE!!!! GO BIG BLUE
Rodger in Dodger back in snow mode! He likes that blue showing up in his neck of the woods! This is Rodger in Dodger
I can’t get over how active this year has been either. I remember (was it summer b4 last)? it was like the entire summer was just straight up boring with hardly any weather systems other than tropical remnants. I remember talking about on this blog how we felt like we were living in Cali. So one extreme to the other as far as active weather…although I don’t think that boring stretch of weather lasted a year…it was more like just a season. This pattern, however, has gone on all year and keeps going.
Yes, we were in the midst of a historic drought this time just two years ago..
Its basically winter now when is the winter prediction coming out?
I was wondering that my self. I hope the snowfall forecast comes out before our fist accumulation….May be running out of time for that though!
I think Chris normally puts it out sometime this month, if I’m thinking correctly? One local L-Ville station put theirs out last night and it definitely looks like a very “interesting” Winter for us snow freaks!
Your forecast works for Tennessee residents and for that Im thankful and a follower. Thanks.
