Good afternoon, everyone. Strong to severe thunderstorms are rolling across the bluegrass state and much of the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys. This will take us through tonight into Election Day morning.
The Damaging wind threat is rather high, with large hail and isolated tornadoes also possible. Here’s the latest Severe Weather Outlook from the SPC…
The local flash flood threat is also up there, especially across central Kentucky. This area may pick up 2″-3″ of rain in a short amount of time.
I have you all set to track the storms from every angle. We will start things off with our exclusive interactive radar. This radar can take you to street level, show current warnings, storm motion, storm tracks, storm reports, current temps and winds and, most impressively, live storm chaser streams. Here ya go…
Stay safe and enjoy the rest of the day. Take care.
Tornado’s already firing up in La..not even in the enhanced area..Interesting..
No watches in effect close by, and it’s already raining. Hopefully, here in Louisville, we will be spared the worse to come.
The negative tilt, which I understand means nasty things, just isn’t there around KY.
Oh…the tornado watch just went up for west central TN!
Most of central and western Tennessee now under a Tornado Watch through 3am Central Time. Needless to say, nighttime tornadoes can be especially dangerous. Even though this time the tornado threat is less the further north into Kentucky, I understand that on average Tennessee has the highest numbers of night tornadoes, Kentucky second, and Arkansas third.
It has become quite windy in Nashville the last few hours. One can sense the moisture in the air.
Tornado Warning near Paris TN, headed in the general direction of the Land Between the Lakes area along the KY-TN line.
A lot of rotation close to you at 10:40 eastern time, especially near Bowling Green. Stay safe tonight!!!!
Tornado warning for eight different counties within a twenty minute timespan yet no watches were issued. Interesting.
Or six. Either way; a considerable amount of geography covered with the warnings.
At least a flood watch before warnings in SC KY….lol
