Good afternoon, folks. Light snow is the name of the weather game for the rest of the day into tonight as our upper low swings across the bluegrass state. This should put down light accumulations along the way and create slick spots on area roads.

That band of snow will increase as it works into central and eastern Kentucky through early evening. Accumulations should range from a half inch up to 2″ on a few spots. Here are a few of the model forecasts through tonight…

Hi Res NAM

With temps dropping below freezing, slick spots will likely develop across the region. Keep that in mind if you’re going to be travelling from this evening through Friday morning. This has the makings of a small event that can have a much bigger impact on travel.

Don’t forget that tonight is my winter forecast on WKYT-TV at 6pm. If you are out of the area and cant watch: https://www.wkyt.com/livestream

I leave you with your tracking tools for the afternoon…
