Good Saturday, everyone.  Thanksgiving week is just about upon us and the overall wintry pattern is taking a bit of a break. That doesn’t mean we break out into a much milder setup, but it won’t be anything like that past few weeks. Looking past Thanksgiving, Old Man Winter is likely to crash back in here to close out November and usher in December.

Today is a mostly  cloudy day in the north and that keeps temps in the low and mid 40s. Farther south, the numbers will head deep into the 50s.

A weak area of low pressure works into the Ohio Valley later Sunday and Monday. That will bring some late day showers to the north and west, with the bulk of the rain arriving Sunday night into Monday. This could be followed by a northwesterly flow by Monday night into early Tuesday. The Nam even suggests a rain or snow shower…

The European has a similar look for Tuesday…

Things continue to look dry for the busy travel period on Wednesday, even with another surge of cold giving us a glancing blow by Thanksgiving. Check out this deep trough just to our northeast…

Thanksgiving looks seasonally chilly, but dry.

The pattern turns rather convoluted across the country as we get into the rest of the holiday weekend. Several different systems will be working across the country, each of them just itching to amplify the pattern once again. The first system may throw rain our way as early as Friday or Saturday…

Another system tries to follow that up a few days later as our winter pattern begins to return…

I will throw you another update later today. Have a good one and take care.
