Good Friday, folks. The day is starting on a windy and pretty normal weather note, but changes move in by the evening. That’s when rain arrives to kick off a very active weekend across the Commonwealth. This active setup will bring winter crashing back into the region as early as Sunday night.

Temps today are in the 50s for highs as clouds thicken quickly. Showers show up in the west during the afternoon and will then overspread the rest of the state through the evening…

Gusty winds may reach 30-35mph at times through tonight as rain continues. Locally heavy downpours are likely through the first half of Saturday. A few areas may pick up a half inch to an inch of rain.

We dry it out from west to east late Saturday. That dry stuff then carries us into early Sunday as temps take off. Readings hit the low 60s on a gusty southwesterly wind. That wind really cranks Sunday night as low pressure works across the region. Gusts of 40-45mph will be possible.

Rain increases from west to east with a VERY quick temperature crash taking place. As the numbers drop, rain changes to a period of light snow that carries us into Monday morning. Wraparound snow showers will then be possible later Monday into Monday night…

Temps are frigid on Monday as we stay in the low and middle 30s. Gusty winds will make it feel like the low and middle 20s.

Another weak system then moves across the state Tuesday night into Wednesday and may bring a swath of light snow with it…

Light accumulations are possible with this system that you would normally see deeper in the winter months. However, this isn’t an ordinary November as it has been a very cold one with frequent flakes flying.

As the pattern continues to evolve next week, it’s loaded with storm systems rolling across the country. Some will bring rain, some will bring snow, some will bring both.

I will hook you up with another update later today. Have a good one and take care.
