Good afternoon, everyone. Rounds of showers and a few thunderstorms continue to press across the state and this action will continue into the weekend. This has the potential to put down some hefty rain totals, leading to local high water issues.

The forecast models are pretty amped up on the rain threat, but vary with where the highest totals fall. A general 1″-3″ of rain appears likely, with local 3″+ amounts possible. Check out the latest rain forecasts…

Hi Res NAM

We will have to keep an eye on some of the smaller creeks and streams through Sunday morning.

A seasonal chill moves in behind that, but temps go back above normal by the middle of next week. This is when we wait and watch for our next system to impact the region Thursday and Friday. This taps much colder air and gives us our next chance for some snow…

Another system may follow that up next weekend…

Another similar system may follow that one up on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Obviously, Christmas is more than a week away, but the pattern isn’t a terrible one from this far out.

Here are your radars to track today’s rain…

I will have another update this evening, so check back.

Make it a good Friday and take care.
