Good afternoon, folks. My time is short, so this won’t be the longest update in the world, Heavy rain is pulling out of southeastern Kentucky as colder air blows in from the west. That colder air settles in to start the weekend, but another big rain event is on the way to end it and the year.

Track the rain out of the state…

That next system produces heavy rain, wind and maybe another rumble of thunder Sunday night through New Year’s Eve. Rainfall totals of 1″-3″ will be possible, leading to a renewed flood threat…

Cold air surges in behind that to kick off 2019, but another southern storm system will develop and could impact our weather later Wednesday or Thursday.

The GFS is seeing it better…

So does the new version…

The Canadian overwhelms it with cold and keeps it southeast…

The ICON says “let’s play ball”…

I will hook you up with another update this evening. Have a good one and take care.
