Good evening, folks. We have an arctic front sliding into the state, bringing a band of light snow and flurries, followed by bitterly cold wind chills. This takes us into a weekend that will feature a couple different snow makers. Oh… Then the Polar Vortex enters the picture next week.

The arctic front will have a band of light snow and flurries with it. This may cause additional slick spots to develop on some roads overnight…

Winds are cranking behind this as temps tumble. Wind chill numbers by Friday morning range from -5 to +5 in much of the region.

From there, additional light snow makers drop into the state from Friday night through Sunday.

Here’s the Hi Res NAM showing the action just through early Saturday night…

The NAM takes it all the way through the weekend…

We are likely to put snow on the ground this weekend, perhaps on more than one occasion. The Sunday one has some legs for a little more snow than the Saturday one.

The Polar Vortex is coming… The Polar Vortex is coming…

That’s going to put the country and our region into the deep freeze next week. It should also be ushered in by a snow maker Monday night and Tuesday…

Enjoy the evening and take care.
