Good evening, everyone. We have a quick hitting winter weather maker rolling our way late Friday into Friday night. This will have a swatch of accumulating snow with it and may also have an area of freezing rain.

For that reason, a Winter Weather Advisory is already out for much of Kentucky…

This should extend through eastern Kentucky and into West Virginia, but… you know how the local NWS offices roll.

Here’s my latest call for snowfall…

The WPC is highlighting an area along Interstate 64 for the potential of 4″ or more snows…

The European Model shows this potential for areas just south of the 64…

The same model run is also showing a freezing rain threat across the west and south…

The latest NAM  is similar with the snow, but is more amped up with the freezing rain…

Snow

Freezing Rain

The NEW GFS has a similar swath of snow…

And shows the freezing rain potential…

All of this comes in behind a cold front dropping into the state tonight. That’s touching off a band of showers, which you can see on our regional radar…

Make it a good one and take care.
