Good Monday, folks. We have much colder weather pressing into the region today, bringing a few snowflakes along for the ride. This is not how our weather will roll for the rest of the week as rounds of heavy rain bring the potential for more flooding issues.

Let’s begin with the potential for a few snow showers or flurries today. This won’t be terribly widespread, but some flakes may be flying from time to time…

The next system is going to blow in here later Tuesday and carry us through Wednesday. This is another massive rain maker for the region and that’s likely to cause some flooding issues. Here’s a look at the areas most at risk for flooding during this time…

Another 1″-3″ of rain should fall in many areas, leading to the potential for general flooding and river flooding.

The beginning of this whole system is likely to include some winter weather. With cold air in place, the leading edge of the precipitation shield could be in the form of snow, freezing rain, sleet or a combo of the three. The NAM continues to be most aggressive with this…

It’s very possible to have a Winter Weather Advisory and Flood Watch out at the same time for some of the same counties.

Another heavy rain maker follows that up by the upcoming weekend. That may also bring enough rain to cause high water issues.
