Good evening, folks. We continue to track a big storm system rolling toward Kentucky over the next few days. This will bring the potential for flooding, flash flooding and severe thunderstorms. Buckle up because this is gonna be a wild ride.

As expected, a Flash Flood Watch is now out for much of the region through Saturday night…

Flood Warnings continue for many of the rivers across the state…

My rainfall forecast has not changed with a general 1″-4″ showing up across the state…

The new European Model agrees with my area of heaviest rain potential…

This would be enough to cause significant flooding and flash flooding issues.

The severe weather aspect of this system is also going to show up later Saturday into Saturday evening. Damaging winds, large hail and a few tornadoes will be possible. Here’s the current outlook from the SPC…

In addition to severe storms, high winds will be a be a big factor and could reach 50-60mph at times. With a wet ground, trees may be uprooted.

We need a colder pattern to take home and that looks to happen later next week and into early March…

In the meantime, let’s track the heavy rain impacting areas of southern Kentucky…

Enjoy the evening and take care.
