Good Monday, everyone. BREAKING NEWS: Our weather pattern is actually calm for a change!! I feel like shouting that from the top of a mountain somewhere. This calm pattern lasts for a few more days, but March is ready to roar in like a cold lion. Unfortunately, arctic air later this weekend into next week.

Temps are in the 20s to start the day, with low and middle 40s to end it with a mix of sun and clouds.

Tuesday and Wednesday look even better as temps climb into the 50s under that same sky. Winds will be a little gusty from time to time.

Changes appear by late this week as a massive cold front dives toward the region. Showers may develop ahead of this by Friday as a series of systems impact the region. Winds are going to crank as this big change blows in. It’s a setup that can take us from gusty rains to snowflakes in a matter of hours.

That’s arctic cold air coming in behind that front to round out the weekend and kick off the first full week of March. As this cold sweeps in, it’s going to force the storm track to our south, giving us the potential for winter weather.

As expected, the usual model differences show up…
