Good evening, folks. We are rolling our way toward a much colder pattern as we close the door on February and open the door on March. This colder setup is likely to throw a winter weather maker at us later this weekend, but the exact impacts are not yet known. It’s still early, my friends.

Before we get to that system, a big temperature drop is underway tonight into Thursday. This will be accompanied by a weak system bringing rain and the potential for a mix our way later Thursday into Thursday night. The best chance for a mix is across the north…

The period from Saturday night through Sunday night continues to have a very interesting look to it. Low pressure is likely to work across the Tennessee Valley, bringing a swath of winter weather and snow to the north of it. The exact track of the low is, as always, the determining factor on what kind of weather you get outside your house.

The GFS continues to show a pretty big hit…

So does the new version of the GFS…

As does the ICON…

The European Model is farther south than the last run, but still has more rain than any of the other models…

Regardless of how much snow, if any, we get, the air coming in behind this is absolutely frigid for next week and may throw another winter weather threat at us.

Enjoy the evening and take care.
