Good evening, everyone. Our snowy Sunday is wrapping up with arctic air pushing into the region. This will send temps MUCH below normal for the next several days, with another busy pattern taking shape late next week into the weekend.

Many roads across the region were snow covered for a time today, but the melting may lead to travel issues tonight. That’s when temps drop into the teens for many areas, leading to icy spots. Keep that in mind if you’re travelling.

Temps stay in the 20s on Monday, some 20-25 degrees colder than normal. Lows tomorrow by Tuesday morning will be in the 10-15 degree range, with a few single digits possible…

Wind chills will be closer to zero with a few negative numbers showing up…

Wednesday is another cold day, but a system rolling in here Thursday and Friday brings snow then some rain…

The air behind that is likely to spike up ahead of a big time plains storm next weekend. The models from a week out have a severe weather signature..

We will see how that plays out over the next week, but the pattern is suggestive of a big system. With additional arctic intrusions into the country and spring tryin to blossom, severe weather outbreaks may show up early across the country.

Enjoy the evening and take care.
