Winter Weather Advisory Tonight

Good evening, folks. I’m just dropping by for a quick update on the light snowfall on the way tonight into early Friday. Overall, I have no changes to anything we’ve been highlighting of late. The timing of this snow will make for a slippery morning commute to begin Friday and likely lead to delays and cancellations.

As expected, the Winter Weather Advisory was expanded farther south…

I don’t have much change in the snowfall forecast, with the edges still a bit in question. That 1″-3″ could still slide a touch farther south or north…

Here are your tracking tools for the evening…

How do we use these tracking tools? Tracking tools have been showing that it has been snowing here for about 3 hours now and we haven’t seen the first snowflake.

The air aloft is still a little dry, but when the atmosphere starts to moisten then the snow will fall. The radars tend to pick up that which isn’t hitting the ground just yet. By the looks of our local radar(L-Ville) this morning, Bardstown supposedly had a heavy band over top of us, but didn’t see a thing until almost 11:30, then it was very light.
