Good Friday to one and all. We are rolling into the final few days of March with a potent storm system ready to impact the region. This will bring an increase in showers and thunderstorms and could even bring a few flakes into the mix by early Sunday.

Before we get into all that, we have a few showers and thunderstorms roaming about the region today. None of these are especially strong and not everyone will see the action, but a few downpours will show up. Here are your radars for the day…

Temps under the shower and storm action will drop into the 50s, with thermometers deep into the 60s for the areas missing out.

Saturday looks like a windy and mild day as showers and storms overspread the region from west to east. There’s a chance for a few strong storms out of this as the cold front sweeps in. Much colder air crashes in here behind this front and that cold will try to catch the back edge of the rain. If that happens, a few snowflakes may mix in…

Whatever is out there early Sunday will move away very quickly, leaving us with a mostly sunny but cold sky. Temps are in the 40s for highs.

From there, a system is going to try and develop and work across the southeastern seaboard early next week. The models differ on placement and strength of that…

Once that gets out of the way, our temps will crank by the middle and end of next week. Temps should make a run back into the 70s…

I think this is setting the tone for April to be a warmer than normal month around here. No, every single day won’t be like the above map, but the average for the month should skew toastier than normal. It’s also likely to be an above normal rainfall and severe weather month.

Have a great Friday and take care.
