Good Thursday, folks. Our Memorial Day Weekend is just around the corner and things continue to look very steamy. This steamy air will also be accompanied by a few rounds of showers and thunderstorms. Some of those storms get cranking out there today and a few could be on the strong or severe side.
A weak boundary is draped across the Ohio Valley and that will help fire up some west-east moving boomers today. The Storm Prediction Center has a low-end risk for severe weather across parts of Kentucky…
From here, the forecast through Memorial Day is pretty straight forward. Highs are deep into the 80s with the occasional 90 showing up. Lows will mainly be 65-70 on any given morning. Humidity levels will also continue to run high.
The threat for a few rounds of showers and thunderstorm showing up…
This action doesn’t look to be terribly widespread on any given day, but the potential is there for a few strong storms. That threat will take us through the middle of next week before changes begin to show back up.
I leave you with your Thursday storm tracking tools…
Possible Watch Areas
Have a great day and take care.
Steamy air not here in my county of Taylor. Yesterday’s high was 86 degrees with a pleasant breeze. This morning the temperature is 67 degrees with the dew point likely to increase this morning and drop some this afternoon with just a slight chance of much needed rain showers. It will be interesting to see what changes in the current weather pattern over the next few weeks.
Started out at 60 this morning at my place we are already up to 78 degrees not as much breeze so far as yesterday
On the ” other side of the coin ” Jefferson City, Missouri took a direct hit from a large tornado late evening yesterday. Extreme damage. News still coming in. Dry line must have move a little further east to cause this. This kind of weather is really sad and it’s too bad that it has to happen anywhere.
