Good Friday, folks. It’s another day of steamy temps and scattered storms and this pattern has locked in through the Memorial Day Weekend. It’s a setup that we commonly see in the heart of summertime, but there are signs of change as we end May and roll into June.
A boundary is draped across the Ohio Valley and this will throw a few more storms at the region today. The greatest potential is across the northern half of the state. Just like Thursday, I can’t rule out a strong storm or two…
Temps range from the middle 80s to near 90 degrees.
Saturday will see similar temps with a scattered storm or two around, especially across the central and eastern parts of the state.
Once into Sunday, another boundary slides closer to us from the north. This will be able to touch off some late day showers and storms, some of which could be strong or severe…
Some of that action will linger into Memorial Day as temps generally range from 85-90 once again.
The pattern finally tries to change by the end of next week as a trough looks to deepen across the eastern half of the country…
Once that digs in, temps are forecast to go below normal…
Make it a fantastic Friday and take care.
Currently 64 degrees and the dew point at 61 degrees. Still not bad at my place. As long as the rain stays away the weather here is quite pleasant, but if it starts raining it will quickly become uncomfortable. The thing is that we need rain for the gardens and crops. Forecasters here are calling for only a slight chance of isolated showers through next week and temperatures in the upper 80’s and lows in mid to upper 60’s.
The lush green foliage is getting roasted lol. At least the yard mowing will slow wayyyy down.
Being that it’s already 86 degrees at 11:30 am in my neck of the woods. There will be no problem with temperatures hitting the lower 90’s at least where I’m at.
Started out at 58 in my neighborhood and already have made it to 89.
86 in Mt. Vernon.
Here in the hills it feels great ! The current temperature is 86 degrees with a consistent southwest breeze. Got all my yard work done and washed all the windows, both front and back porches plus the air conditioners, as I may have company this weekend. Lawn if you can call it a lawn is still green despite the lack of showers. On the twelve hour water vapor loop you can see the huge upper level high pressure system in the Gulf of Mexico with the energy moving around the rim. As Chris said ” it’s a set up we commonly see in the heart of Summertime.” Maybe we will get our summer weather over and have an early Autumn ? Wouldn’t that be great ? !!!
