Good Monday to one and all. Right on cue, our stormy pattern kicked off with a bang over the weekend. Severe thunderstorms and flooding rains pounded much of the region and this is just the beginning. Additional rounds of heavy rain producing thunderstorms will likely cause issues over the next week.

If you’re a regular reader of the blog, you know this pattern has been well advertised. A front is stalling on top of the Ohio Valley and will essentially stay there through the rest of the week into the weekend. At the same time, several waves of low pressure will develop along the boundary…

That means waves of showers and thunderstorms will continue to impact the bluegrass state during this time. These storms will be loaded with torrential rains, likely producing flooding issues from time to time. These storms may also pose a severe weather threat.

Similar to Sunday, we have that potential again out there today…

Damaging winds and large hail will be the main players with any strong or severe storm going up. That’s not just the case for today, but it’s basically the case each day this week and into the weekend.

The flash flood threat is fairly high as several inches of rain will fall. If you live in a flood prone area, please keep a close eye out when storms develop because they can put down a ton of rain in a hurry.

Here are your Monday storm tracking tools…

Make it a great Monday and take care.
