Good Saturday to one and all. From the broken record department, our same old pattern continues into the close of the 4th of July weekend. Rounds of showers and storms will continue to target the region today and into Sunday, bringing a few more issues along the way.
I honestly am tired of setting the stage of what to expect, but here goes. Storms will develop in clusters and a few can be strong or locally severe. With so much moisture in the air, torrential rains are likely with today’s storms and that may cause local flash flooding. It’s NOT going to rain all the time and some of us may not see very much. I’ll have your tracking toys in a bit.
Showers and storms will be around on Sunday, with the greatest emphasis across the southern and eastern parts of the state.
A leftover shower or storm is possible on Monday and Tuesday, but the pattern should feature mainly dry weather. Highs come down a bit.
The setup for later next week features a cold front dropping in late Wednesday and Thursday, bringing more showers and storms in here from the northwest. Notice how that system moves in through as something tries to develop in the Gulf…
We will have to wait and see what happens with that system to determine what happens around here next weekend.
Here is your daily dose of storm tracking tools…
Possible Watch Areas
Make it a great day and take care.
Thanks Chris, Just to show you that I never get tired of reading your weather blog each and every morning. We will just have to wait and see if there are any real changes in the next month or so. I have seen many Summers like this before and it always changes to the opposite. Everyone think cool and have a great Saturday and evening.
Summer is suppose to be hot let the different seasons play out as they should
This
Very few storms around the last two days. Widely scattered at best.
Unfortunately, July 4 had a dying thundershower over Bowling Green much of the day (was with my in-laws). Only about a half inch at the airport, but the rain was constant for sometime although it finally dried out for the evening. But by then I had to head back to Nashville as I was going to be stuck in the office 🙁 for at least part of Friday.
Just a few isolated t-showers yesterday and today in Nashville. About a tenth of an inch today in my cheap scratched up rain gauge.
Richmond has not seen for a few days now. Nice.
rain
Yep – My part of Richmond has been really nice the last week really. Hot, sunny and just two popup (and quickly going away) storms and one was overnight. Just what summer should be…
I have only recorded 0.16 at my house near Harlan, KY since last Saturday. Everything misses here when it comes from the west or SW direction as the mountains shear t-storms to death before they reach my location.
